SARATOGA SPRINGS —Saratoga Spa State Park has a wonderful dog park that needs to be fenced in to keep the dogs safe from running in the road. For the last 15 years, the neighborhood candy store, The Candy Co. of Saratoga, has created a chocolate pop (for humans only, not for canines) and all the proceeds of the sales goes towards the building of the fence.
“I have a rescue dog, Sawyer that is the love of my life,” said owner Dawn Oesch. “He is a beagle/border collie mix which makes him stubborn and smart at the same time. I don’t feel comfortable letting him off his leash at the park until a fence is built. He can run around at home well enough but how fun it will be for him to run free with all his canine friends.”
Sawyer Pops are a chocolate lollipop paw print available in milk, white or dark chocolate and are $1.75 each and are available at The Candy Co. 5 Washington Street, Saratoga Springs.
