Free Day at the Saratoga Regional YMCA All 5 Locations, Saratoga Regional YM CAs, 5 a.m. – 11 p.m. The Y is offering a free day of fitness on their 150th anniversary. All five branches (Saratoga Springs, Wilton, Malta, Greenwich and Corinth) of the association will be open to the public for the entire day. With over 100 free group fitness classes offered each week, including Zumba, cycling and warm yoga, there is something for everyone. Take a few laps around the indoor track, swim in the pool, play basketball in the gymnasium, kick the soccer ball around the field house, or try out the free weights and cardiovascular equipment in the wellness center- see what it’s like to belong to the SRYMCA family.

Flag Day Parade

Downtown Saratoga Springs 12 - 2:00 p.m. Celebrate Flag Day in Saratoga Springs by attending the annual Saratoga-Wilton Elks Lodge #161 Flag Day Parade. Herbs, Perennials and Garden Décor Corner of Bryan and East Ave. just off No. Broadway, Saratoga Springs, 9 a.m. – Noon The Heritage Garden Club of Saratoga Springs is sponsoring a herb, perennial plant and garden decor sale. There will be many varieties of herbs, perennial plants as well as garden accents available for sale.

2nd Annual Mr. Polidore Dandelion 5K Run and Walk Tanglewood Elementary School, 60 Tanglewood Dr., S. Glens Falls. 8:30 a.m. Mr. Stephen Polidore was a greatly loved Kindergarten teacher at Tanglewood Elementary for over 20 years. Sadly, he passed away in 2014. This event is held in his memory. Please help us celebrate him at this special event. At 8:30 a.m. there will be a Fun Run for Kids and at 9 a.m. a 5K Run/Walk (timed event). The 4th Annual Beekman Street Art Fair Arts District, Beekman St. between Grand Ave and West Circular, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. The family-friendly, pedestrian-friendly event will feature over 50 fine and craft artists set up in individual tents along Beekman Street. Under the performance tent on Ash St will be a puppet demonstration, musical groups, and an Open Mic session hosted by Saratoga Children’s Theater. A children’s art park will be set up for make-n-take projects appealing to different age groups. Rain or shine, free admission. Saratoga Arts made this program possible with a Community Arts Grant funded by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.

Wellness Walk Old Gick Farm Trailhead, Route 50, Wilton Preserve and Park, 10 - 11 a.m. Get out and enjoy the Preserve & Park with others looking to get outdoors. Our wellness walks are meant for both gentle exercise and for enjoying nature. It is good for people of even the most basic fitness level. The walk will be about an hour and will cover about a mile and a half of gently rolling terrain. Preregistration is suggested but not required. The program will not take place in inclement weather. MDOCS Storytellers’ Institute Fellows Exhibit Spring Street Gallery 110 Spring St, Saratoga Springs, 7 p.m. Opening Reception and Artists’ Talks. At 7 - 7:30 p.m. Courtney Reid-Eaton artist talk followed by Q&A. Much of Courtney’s work centers around the theme of families and particularly immigrant families, especially those of the African diaspora (who can’t trace their families back for many generations) don’t know their histories. Touch, listen, and watch her work to further explore this year’s theme of fact & fiction while she pieces together undocumented histories through archive, photos and film. At 8 - 8:30 p.m. Jake Nussbaum artist talk followed by Q&A. He is a Brooklyn-based multidisciplinary artist. His work utilizes the research-based practices of anthropology and documentary in tandem with the imaginary world of the creative arts. His recent public projects included Radyo Shak, a temporary multilingual pirate community radio station in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti and Field Guide, a solo exhibition of sculpture, archive, and an interactive trail at the Vermont Studio Center.
