SARATOGA SPRINGS – On Saturday, May 5, Impressions of Saratoga will again celebrate all things dog. The 14th Annual Dog Day Celebration will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of the store.

Located at the corner of Broadway and Phila Street, Impressions of Saratoga is celebrating its 40th year in business this year and has always welcomed dogs and their owners. Each dog is greeted with fresh water, treats and love. Plus, for first-time visitors, photos are taken for a “Doggie Wall of Fame” that was started in 2001.

Most days at least one of the four Impressions pups, Smalls, Cookie, Smitty and Pupa, are in the office working.

This year’s Dog Day will include a variety of treats for dogs to taste and choose favorites. All Coloring Contest entries will be on display with the winner’s artwork featured. There will be information provided about Homes for Orphaned Pets Exist (H.O.P.E.), a local pet rescue organization, as well as information on the Safe Pet Partnership of Wellspring.

Donations of pet items like food, treats, collars, leashes, blankets and toys will be split up between the two organizations. Anyone who brings a donation will be entered in a chance to win a dog-themed gift basket. H.O.PE. also will be receiving two heated pet carriers from Jason and Saranya Thomas.

Saratoga Portrait Studio (located directly above Impressions of Saratoga) will be hosting professional pet portraits with proceeds being given to H.O.P.E. and Safe Pet Partnership. You can sign up in advance through the link on the Impressions Facebook Event Page. There will be room for some walk-ins. On Saturday, new dog products at the store will be released and all pet products will be 20 percent off.
