Stella Levy Mintzer
SARATOGA SPRINGS – Stella Levy Mintzer, age 88, passed away on September 5, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was born in Brooklyn on September 18, 1927.
Predeceased by her parents Abe and Yetta Levy and her brother Walter Levy, Stella is survived by her husband of 68 years Milton Mintzer; her children Jack Mintzer (Adena), Stuart Mintzer (Carol), Eileen Woodcock (Skip); grandchildren Ryan Woodcock Mintzer, Jessy Woodcock, and Eugenia Moore, as well as her great-grandchildren Nathan, Faith, and Elizabeth.
Stella was a tireless volunteer who supported many organizations and causes including Congregation Shaara Tfille, Head Start, Homemade Theater, and Guide Dogs for the Blind and never sought recognition for her charitable giving. She was a long time member of Hadassah and Bnai Brith. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she especially enjoyed family occasions surrounded by her nieces, nephews, and extended family who will all miss her. She was a friend to the many who knew her.
Memorial services were held at Congregation Shaara Tfille, 84 Weibel Ave., Saratoga Springs on Wednesday, September 7, 2016. Following the service, a meal of comfort was shared for all who wish to remember Stella.
The traditional Shiva Service will be at the family home, 25 MacArthur Dr., Saratoga Springs at 7:30 p.m. the following dates: September 11, 12, and 13.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Congregation Shaara Tfille, 84 Weibel Ave., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
Arrangements are under the direction of the William J. Burke and Sons/Bussing and Cunniff Funeral Homes of 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs.
