William Edward Pitman

ROME, NY — William Edward Pitman, 68, formerly of Saratoga Springs, died on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Rome Memorial Hospital, Rome, NY. Born on January 23, 1948 in Albany, he was the son of the late Robert and Leona Pitman. A 1967 graduate of Saratoga Springs High School, William enlisted in the United States Air Force and spent twenty years on active duty, retiring in 1988. During his time in the Air Force he did tours in Vietnam, South Korea, Great Britain and several duty stations in the United States. William is survived by his sister, Leona Pitman of Ballston Spa and a step brother, Robert Pitman of Saratoga Springs. Graveside services with military honors will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Friday, July 22, 2016 at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Road, Schuylerville. Donations may be made in his name to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are under the direction of the William J.
