Jeffrey D. Cross
SARATOGA SPRINGS — Jeffrey D. Cross, 55, died Monday, July 4, 2016 at Saratoga Hospital, following a heroic battle with Multiple Myeloma.
Born on July 16, 1960, in Plattsburgh, he is a son of Patricia (Donoghue) Cross and the late Roy Cross. He attended St. Peter’s Elementary School and High School, graduating with the class of 1978. He attended Johnson and Wales College graduating with a degree in Culinary Arts and Business Management. Jeff’s early career included several sales-based opportunities, yet his passion was always food. His culinary career encompassed many areas, primarily as a Chef. He had owned and managed catering businesses and work in food management for several years and has spent the past nine years at Longfellows Restaurant. He was a member of the VFW, Italian-American (ITAM) Post and was an active member of the Saratoga-Wilton B.P.O. Elks Lodge 161. A generous and giving individual, he donated much of his time and talents in fundraisers for the benefit of others. Jeff had an infectious sense of humor, loved to pick on people and make them laugh. He enjoyed athletic sports, especially golf, and of course, the horses.
In addition to his mother of Saratoga Springs, he is survived by his loving companion, Linda Ortiz, his three beautiful daughters, Samantha, Jessica and Sydney and their mother, Sandra Cross, his brother and sister-in-law, Gregg and Debbie Cross and their two children, Erica and Kevin.
Our thanks and gratitude to Dr. David Mastrianni and Dr. Edward Leibers, along with their wonderful staff; also for the loving care Jeffrey received from the nurses and staff at Saratoga Hospital and A3, who loved him and his sense of humor. A special thank-you is also extended to Steve Sullivan and Lou Maggiore.
The family also wishes to sincerely thank all of Jeff’s many friends for their wonderful support, generosity, thoughts and prayers.
