MILTON – Students at Storybook Academy Pre-School on Geyser Road, as part of their disability awareness curriculum, participated this week in the “Hop-A-Thon” organized each year by the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).
The MDA’s Hop-A-Thon is a free program that teaches children ages 2 – 7 about physical disabilities and the importance of accepting and helping all children. The program culminates in a brief, high-energy hopping fundraiser that supports neuromuscular disease research and services.
The Hop-A-Thons teach and reinforce three key principles: Disability awareness, acceptance and assistance—plus they are simply a lot of fun for the youngsters.
