Sudden cardiac arrest claims nearly 400,000 lives each year. The American Heart Association creates the guidelines for CPR, and passed The CPR in Schools Law, which requires that all high school graduates in New York State learn Hands-Only CPR. Having CPR performed doubles or triples the chances for survival of sudden cardiac arrest.
On Feb. 15, the American Heart Association presented CPR in schools training kit, donated by Columbia Memorial Health, to Ichabod Crane High in Kinderhook.
