SARATOGA SPRINGS – The Adirondack Trust Company Community Fund continues to accept grant applications from eligible nonprofit charities until the submission deadline on Sept. 30, according to Caroline Putman, chair of the Community Fund’s Independent Advisory Committee.

In December, the fund’s Independent Advisory Committee will announce grant recipients. The Community Fund welcomes nonprofit organizations to apply for grants that represent new and creative programs. Over the past six years, the Community Fund has provided 101 grants in excess of $193,000 in Lend-A-Hand Grants.

The Adirondack Trust Company Community Fund was established in 2009. The primary mission is to perpetuate the spirit of giving that is integral to the quality of life in our region by providing flexible options for planned giving. The annual Lend-a-Hand Grants help improve the quality of life and address issues of common concern in the area.

In 2016, the Community Fund allocated $42,270 toward 23 Lend-a-Hand Grants. These grants funded local, nonprofit organizations’ programs in such diverse areas as veterans’ outreach, mental health services, wildlife education, homelessness prevention, youth services, and the arts.
