Fusion Hair Salon Goes Green

SARATOGA SPRINGS — Fusion The Salon, located at 18 Division Street, Saratoga Springs, in partnership with Green Circle Salons (GCS) has recently become a certified sustainable salon.

As a certified sustainable salon, GCS will ensure that 85-95% of Fusion The Salon's waste is kept out of landfills and waterways, and managed in an environmentally friendly way.

Through GCS programs, salon waste such as hair, foils, plastics, papers and chemicals are recovered and repurposed to find a second life and new uses, which help protect our planet's limited natural resources.

GCS also encourages other green initiatives including using energy efficent lighting and fans, and investing in solar and thermal power.

The program is funded by an environmental $2 stewardship fee included in the cost of your visit.

"We believe that by taking these important and incremental steps now, we can pre-empt future fees that may come as a result of an emerging green economy and the ever-increasing cost of energy and environmental regulation. We are excited about being leaders in our community and the industry, and we are delighted that you care for our world as much as we do," reads a statement from Fusion The Salon's website.
