Gavin Park Tree Lighting Ceremony

Friday December 6 at 6 p.m. Take pictures with Rudolph, Frosty, and Santa’s Elves as they roam the park. At 6:15 lighting of the tree and at 6:30 Santa arrives. Say hello to Santa and get your picture taken with him. Coffee, hot chocolate, cookies and treats will be provided. 

Stretch Your Budget Christmas Sale

Held on Friday and Saturday, December 1 and 2, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.  at the Old Stone Church, located at 159 Stone Church Road, Ballston Spa.  Shop for your Christmas Gifts for a donation and enjoy a cup of coffee, hot chocolate, and cookies. Tea and Talk: Holiday Memories

On Friday, December 1 from 3 - 4 p.m. the Galway Public Library, 2112 East Street, Galway, will hold the adult program "Tea and Talk: Holiday Memories."  Please bring your favorite holiday ornament or decoration, and be prepared to share a special holiday recollection.  Tea and light refreshments will be served.  Registration is requested at 518-882-6385. 

Waldorf Winter Faire 

Held on Saturday, December 2 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. at our lower school location. This event will be open to the public! This winter celebration will expand on our long-standing tradition of the Waldorf School Angel Room. There will be craft vendors, food, and ticketed crafts.

Holiday Craft and Vendor Fair

Come shop for those great holiday gifts this year at Saratoga Wilton Elks, 1 Elks Lane, Saturday, December 2 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Many crafters and vendors will be on site. Holiday Sale

On Saturday, December 2 from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m., Old Saratoga Reformed Church, located at Pearl and Burgoyne Streets, in Schuylerville, will be having a Holiday Sale.  New and gently used Christmas items will be available for a donation. A Community Christmas Music Concert 

Held on Sunday, December 3 at 3 p.m. at Old Saratoga Reformed Church, located at Burgoyne and Pearl Streets in Schuylerville.  Featured will be area choirs and local musicians.  A free will offering will be taken, to benefit the community Caring and Sharing Program, which helps children in need in the Schuylerville School District.  Refreshments will follow the concert.  The church is handicapped friendly.  All are welcome!  For more information, call 518-695-3479. 

Santas for Seniors 

Saratoga Senior Center’s “Santas for Seniors” provides wish lists for donors willing to adopt a senior this holiday season. Barbara can match interested volunteers with countless holiday activities too, including an afternoon of giftwrapping and cookie decorating on December 11, the Center’s Holiday Dinner on December 14, a Holiday Movie Matinee on December 15 and member Holiday Party on December 18. For those looking for unique gifts, “Holiday Shops at the Center” will take place on Monday, December 4, from 1-3 p.m. The first annual shopping extravaganza is open to the public and will feature a variety of vendors offering art, crafts, and specialty items.   • Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office  The Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic incident call on Manchester Drive in the town of Halfmoon on April 21. Investigation into the matter led to the arrest of Julia H. Kim (age 33) of Halfmoon, who was charged with assault in the 2nd degree (class D felony) and criminal possession of a weapon in the 4th degree (class A misdemeanor).
