Cars and Coffee

The Town of Greenfield Lions Club is hosting a Cars & Coffee Event on Saturday August 5 at the Middle Grove Town Park, 430 Middle Grove Road, Middle Grove, from 8 - 11 a.m. Event is free and is open to any car or truck, including daily drivers. There will be a 50-50 raffle and door prizes for entered vehicles. This event is being sponsored by Ryan’s Garage. The Greenfield Lions will be selling fresh breakfast sandwiches and coffee. The public is invited to check out the vehicles.

The Schuylerville Central School Alumni Banquet

Stem Week Camp

This learning program is for boys and girls ages 8 – 14, interested in science, technology, engineering and mathematics or boys and girls who just want to have a great time. The program runs from August 7 - 11 from 8 a.m. to Noon at the 4-H Training Center, 556 Middleline Road in Ballston Spa. Tweens between 8 and 11 years will build a Lego Mindstorms robot and code it using scratch along with other coding activities. Older youth between 12 and 14 will use CAD to design/build a larger robot and code it using basic Java. No experience necessary. Fee is $150 includes instruction, T-Shirt and snack each day. The Right Time and Right Place to Help

Jesuit to speak on life and work in Beirut on Friday, August 11, 8:45 – 10 a.m. at St. Clement’s Church, Lake Ave., Saratoga Springs. Raised in Saratoga Springs, Father Dan Corrou, SJ, will speak on his work among the people of Lebanon and his own journey of discernment in the Jesuits during a morning talk. Dan continues to serve in Beirut as the director of Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) for the Middle East-North African region. He will be serving the 8 a.m. mass that morning. Dinner Dance Fundraiser

Saratoga Springs Knights of Columbus Assembly 745 will be sponsoring a Dinner Dance to raise funds to help support our local needy veterans on Saturday, August 12, at the KOC Hall, 50 Pine Road, from 5 - 10 p.m., at a cost of $25 per person.  This event will have a live band and will feature a silent auction.  All proceeds from the event will go to: Veterans Community Housing Coalition (VCHC), Ballston Spa, and other veterans support agencies, as well as for $100 gift cards to VCHC residents at Christmas.

The Health, History, & Horses Charity Gala

Presented by Ladies of Charity, Saratoga Chapter. Funds raised are distributed annually to established charities in Saratoga & Warren/Washing counties: Catholic Charities, food kitchens, shelters, and tuition support programs. Auditions for The Headless Horseman

Malta Spotlighter’s Theatre Troupe will be holding auditions on Sunday, August 27 and Monday, August 28 for the musical production of ‘The Headless Horseman’, based on the classic ghost story by Washington Irving.   • Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office  The Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic incident call on Manchester Drive in the town of Halfmoon on April 21. Investigation into the matter led to the arrest of Julia H. Kim (age 33) of Halfmoon, who was charged with assault in the 2nd degree (class D felony) and criminal possession of a weapon in the 4th degree (class A misdemeanor).
