SCHUYLERVILLE — Dr. Leo F. Nash, 90, a longtime resident of Schuylerville, passed away Friday, January 19, 2018 at Wesley Health Care Center surrounded by his family.

Born May 8, 1927 in Cambridge, he was the son of the late Leo J. and Elizabeth Flynn Nash.

Dr. Nash served with the US Navy from 1945-47. He was a graduate of University of Buffalo in 1948 and University of Buffalo Dental School in 1954. He had a family dental practice in Schuylerville from 1955-1989. He was a life member of ADA, Dental Society of State of NY, and the Fourth District Dental Society where he was also Editor of the Fourth District Newsletter and was a member of the Saratoga County Dental Assoc.

He was an honorary life member of K of C Council #1735 and was past Grand Knight. He was a member Right Rev. Msgr. Daniel F. Curtain Assembly Fourth Degree K of C, past member of Schuylerville Lions Club, Old Saratoga American Legion Post #278, former member and past President of Battenkill Country Club. He was an avid road runner and had entered and finished 16 marathons and 453 10K and 5K races. He was an usher and eucharistic minister at Notre Dame-Visitation Church in Schuylerville.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Donald J. Nash and Edward M. Nash.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Edna (Ludwig) Nash; children, John (Carol) Nash, Elizabeth (Paul) Irish, and Thomas (Eileen) Nash; granddaughters, Megan Nash and Carlee Irish; sisters, Helen Ackermann and Janet Aldous; several nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass was celebrated Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Church in Greenwich with Rev. Martin Fisher, officiating. Spring burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff at Wesley Health Care and Community Hospice of Saratoga for their great care given to Dr. Nash.
