Lorraine T. Martin

SARATOGA SPRINGS – Lorraine T. Martin went to be with the Lord on Monday, Oct 3, 2016 after a long illness. She was born in Troy on January 18, 1950 to G. Keith Trembly and Mary Catone-Trembly. Her father had a career in the Air Force which afforded the family to travel the country and other parts of the world. She was a graduate of Saratoga Springs High School and married William D. O'Donnell on June 29, 1968, the summer following graduation. She worked for Walter Stroup, Empire State College, and the NYS Department of Health.
In September 1991, Lorraine married Llewellyn "Jerry" Martin. This past September they celebrated their 25th anniversary. Lorrie was known for her creative and artistic abilities which included crafts, stained glass, and gardening. She also loved reading Stephen King novels, sitting by the pool, and camping up north with her husband. Her high school accomplishments led to her being offered a position at the UN as an interpreter for Spanish. The love she had for animals was only outweighed by her love for her family. She was predeceased by her brothers Richard and Bryan Trembly, her first husband, William and her father. Survivors include her mother, Mary, of Florida; husband, Jerry; son, Daniel P. O'Donnell; daughter, Kelly L. O'Donnell Mackison; grandson, Garett M. Mackison; step-son, David Martin (Melissa) and their children, Mindy (Chris) and their children. She is also survived by her siblings, Melanie Conners of RI; Donna Murphy (Bill) of TN, Bruce Trembly (Pam) of FL, Pamela Castro (John) of FL, several nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. Lorrie also leaves her former sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary K O'Donnell and Mike Conners. The family would like to give their sincere gratitude to the staff at Saratoga Center for Rehab and Skilled Nursing Care in Ballston Spa.  Relatives and friends gathered in her name Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016 at the William J. Burke and Sons/Bussing and Cunniff Funeral Homes in Saratoga Springs. A funeral service conducted by Deacon Ed Solomon followed. A committal service will take place on Friday, Oct. 14, 2016 at St. Peter’s Cemetery, West Ave. in Saratoga Springs at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to the American Heart Association, 4 Atrium Dr #100, Albany, NY 12205.
