GREENWICH — Louise G. Landry, 79, passed away Monday, February 24 at Saratoga Hospital.

Louise was born on September 17, 1934 in Reading, Pennyslvania, the daughter of the late Charles L. and Ruth Miller Gordon of Reading.

Following her graduation from Reading High School, Louise attended Albright College and was co-founder of The Hassler Home in Reading when she was married to Dr. Ralph Hassler.

Louise later operated the Bohemia House B&B in Chesapeake City, Maryland with her present husband of 41 years, Harry L. Landry. Louise was a loving, giving wife and mother and a woman of uncommon strength and serenity. Her warmth and generosity was felt by all that came to know her.

Survivors include her husband Harry “Chip” Landry; 10children, Gordon Landry of Chesapeake City, Virginia, Emma Tygert of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Gavin Landry of Brooklyn, Bianca Landry of Elkton, Maryland, Treva Weaver of Westerville, Ohio, Richard Landry of Greenwich, Tory Landry of Menands, Johanna Landry of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Jesse and Melissa Landry, both of Schuylerville; her sister, Susan Schmehl; 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. 

As a Board Member of the Hudson Crossing Park, Louise was very active in the creation of the foundation and ongoing development of the park. In this regard, the family would appreciate that donations be made in her honor, in lieu of flowers. Information about the park may be found at www.hudsoncrossingpark.org. Relatives and friends may call from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, February 27 at William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing and Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (518) 584-5373.

Services will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Hain’s Church Cemetery, Wernersville, Pennsylvania with a celebration service to follow at Heidelburg Country Club, Bernville, Pennsylvania.

Investigation into the matter led to the arrest of Julia H.
