Have you ever had a migraine after eating too much Chinese food?  Have you ever seen a child change their behavior/mood significantly after eating an ice cream cone with rainbow sprinkles?

Symptoms (such as headaches, bloating, gas, yeast/fungal infections, sinus infections, fatigue, difficulty losing weight, behavioral/mood changes, irritability, “brain fog”, memory/concentration,  inflammation, joint pain, allergies, and asthma/auto immune disorders,) effect millions of Americans on a daily basis. If you are one of the millions afflicted, it’s time to take a different approach.

Have you ever truly analyzed what you are putting into your body, and how it just may relate to the symptoms you may be feeling?   The U.S. food supply contains an overabundance of synthetic chemicals, artificial compounds, excito-toxins, dyes, heavy metals, GMO’s pesticides/herbicides, and even foods themselves that can wreak havoc if consumed in larger than tolerated quantities. Coincidentally, the growing number of children and adults diagnosed with ADHD, autism, autoimmune disorders, IBS, food allergies/sensitivities, metabolic syndrome, etc... to THIS holistic nutritionist, is not such a coincidence.

In the U.S., many of these unwanted symptoms unfortunately are “treated” with western medicine, which ironically entails putting more synthetic chemicals in the body.  Over time, symptoms can’t be relieved with a normal dose, and a maximum strength dose is prescribed. With the continued frustrations of the patient (and doctor, let’s face it...) this can and usually leads to a diagnosis, with a final reminder that “you will just have to live with it”. A good example of this is Irritable Bowel Syndrome, or IBS. IBS is a general term for a gastrointestinal condition with no known cause, which afflicts approximately 1-6 people in the U.S.  Imagine having to live with symptoms that can be uncomfortable, embarrassing, and even debilitating... AND have to live with them the rest of your life???

I have seen this over and over in my private practice, where a client comes to me seeking desperate solace in the belief that there may be another way.   Anytime a client is experiencing symptoms, regardless of the type, I put on my Sherlock Holmes hat trying to find SOME cause ...because there is always a cause.  You see, when the body is out of balance, it tries to compensate, but doesn't always self-regulate the way we would like, especially as we get older.  In addition, certain conditions can deplete the body of the essential nutrients and flora we need, causing a snowball effect, which exacerbates the problem.   Meanwhile, the immune system is our first line of defense to ward off any unwanted bacteria and virus from coming into the body.  But if the immune system is fighting off inflammation, or toxins in the gut or bloodstream, it isn’t going to be available to work efficiently throughout the rest of the body.

This is why we begin to feel symptoms, whether physical or emotional. So, if we choose to eat a diet that is, let’s say, less than optimal, we essentially are allowing the doors to fly open for imbalance within the body.  Don’t allow this to happen, but if you’re already there, take some time and dedication to seek natural balance.  Rather than taking the easy road by opening the window to fan the smoke, find the fire and extinguish it once and for all.  A Holistic Nutritionist or Naturopath will work with you to balance and restore you back to optimal wellness....

What are your symptoms, past or present, and what, if anything you have done to extinguish the fire...

What do you think about the food supply in the U.S., and what steps are you taking to ensure your family gets the best possible nutrition?
