BALLSTON SPA — After a long and harrowing process of selecting a candidate for the position of Saratoga County Animal Shelter supervisor, The Saratoga County committee that oversees personnel matters voted July 8 to appoint 48-year-old Deborah Oligny as the new supervisor of the shelter.

BALLSTON SPA — After the full county Board of Supervisors rejected the proposal of hiring 22-year-old Christina Abele as the Saratoga County Animal Shelter Supervisor, an entirely new application process has started and the animal shelter committee expects to be interviewing candidates around the week of May 12.

BALLSTON SPA – In front of a packed room at the Saratoga County Board of Supervisors’ March 19 meeting, 22-year-old Christina Abele learned she would not be appointed as the next director of the Saratoga County Animal Shelter, after the board voted to defeat the motion that would have put her in charge. 

BALLSTON SPA – Citing they feel it is a political appointment for the child of a major campaign contributor, volunteers who have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations for Saratoga County’s Animal Shelter have pledged to withdraw their support if the Board of Supervisors moves forward next week to appoint 22-year-old Christina Abele to the $62,000-a-year supervisory position.
