Community Gardening
Time to think spring. If you love to garden but don’t have the space join us at the community garden. If you are new to gardening, there are many knowledgeable gardeners there who are happy to offer advice. We have 52 raised beds that are on the Wesley campus. We have a mix of Wesley residents, Skidmore community members and local residents who grow healthy organic vegetables and beautiful flowers to improve their diet, brighten their lives and make new friends. Saratoga Men’s Baseball League Seeking Players

Commissioner’s Tapping Ceremony
New York’s maple season is fast approaching! To celebrate the season NYS Commissioner of Agriculture Richard Ball will be attending a ceremonial tree tapping on Friday, March 8 at 10 a.m. This year’s ceremony will take place at Hop City Maple located at 340 Hop City Road in Ballston Spa. This annual event is hosted by the Upper Hudson Maple Producers Association. Fellow sugar makers and any who are interested are invited to attend. Several local dignitaries and Ballston Spa area farmers will be in attendance. Following the ceremony, Hop City Maple will be offering maple apple pie to attendees courtesy of Mourningkill Bake Shop. This year’s New York State Maple Weekends are March 16-17 and 23-24.

Annual Wellness Expo
Held at Wood Road Elementary School in the cafeteria/gymnasium on March 9 from 9 a.m. – Noon. The goal is to bring the school community together for a fun-filled day and encourage students and families to participate in healthy and active lifestyles. Includes information from community organizations, bike giveaways, live demonstrations, and great freebies. A free family-friendly event that is open to all residents of the Ballston Spa School district. Bicycle helmets will be given away to students courtesy of a donation from Senator Tedisco’s office. There will also be drawings held throughout the day, including free bicycles (for current students). Franklin Community Center Annual Benefit Concert
The Saratoga Youth Symphony (SYS) announces their benefit concert on Sunday, March 10 at 7 p.m. at the Presbyterian United Church of Christ, 24 Circular St., Saratoga Springs. The Saratoga Youth Symphony provides a non-competitive orchestral experience for talented student musicians ages 18 and under. Guest Night and Irish Tunes
The Saratoga Springs based Racing City Chorus invite men 18 years of age and older to our “Guest Night” and “Irish Tunes” evening on Tuesday, March 12 at 7:30 – 10 p.m. at the PBA Clubhouse, 5 Bliven Way, Saratoga Springs. Katie: The Strongest of the Strong
Free Family Performance at The Hyde Collection, 161 Warren Street, Glens Falls on March 16, 11 a.m. Opera Saratoga presents Katie: The Strongest of the Strong by Faye Chiao and Anton Dudley at venues across the Capital Region for children grades K-6. The 45-minute story celebrates women’s strength and confidence through the amazingly theatrical true story of Katie Sandwina, a circus strongwoman who defied cultural expectations and then became instrumental in the U.S. suffrage movement. Spring Craft Fair
The Ladies Auxiliary of the Saratoga-Wilton Elks Club is holding a wonderful Spring Craft Fair on Saturday, March 16 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the Lodge on Elks Lane off Maple Avenue in Saratoga. Slow Pitch Co-Ed or Men’s Softball
Registration is Thursday, March 28, 6 – 9 p.m. at the End Zone Sports Bar in Saratoga Springs. Cost is $825 per team. Checks payable to Just For Fun Sports (Venmo or PayPal also). Fee covers team entrance fee for all field fees, softballs, scorebooks, and line up cards, plus other league expenses. Umpire fees are an additional $28 per team/per game. Co-Ed Leagues are either Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, or Sundays. Men’s League is on Mondays. The 2024 summer league start date is Monday, April 29 – Thursday May 2.
