MALTA — Arnoff Moving and Storage, a family-owned company based in Malta, is holding a pair of ribbon cutting ceremonies to celebrate 100 years in business.
The first event will take place on May 1 at 10 Stonebreak Rd in Malta, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The second ceremony will be held on May 7 at 1282 Dutchess Turnpike in Poughkeepsie from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Founded in 1924 by Abraham and his son Louis in Lakeville, Connecticut, Arnoff began its journey as a small operation, utilizing a single truck to assist neighbors in delivering home furnishings. Over the decades, the company has experienced significant growth.
Louis’ son Richard and his wife Phyllis expanded moving operations to Poughkeepsie, serving communities in New York’s Hudson Valley. After their sons Mike and Mark took over, the Arnoff name became known across the Capital Region and in Florida. In more recent years, the fifth generation of the family has taken on leadership roles.
Since 1950, Arnoff has served as an agent for northAmerican Van Lines, fostering a partnership that has allowed the company to facilitate moves for families worldwide. In recent years, Arnoff introduced Arnoff Global Logistics, a specialized brand dedicated to Arnoff’s commercial clientele.
Chief Relationship Officer Daniel Arnoff was recently among a panel of Malta business leaders featured at an “Inside Malta” discussion. At the event, Arnoff said that by observing Malta’s growth, “it’s clear to us that we’re not slowing down any time soon.”
