Saratoga Gymnastics Keeps Streak Alive

SARATOGA SPRINGS — Saratoga gymnastics won their final dual meet of the season by defeating Shaker 169.00 – 144.55 on Jan. 15 at the Wilton YMCA to end their dual meet season with a perfect 6-0 record.

This marks the 12th consecutive undefeated dual meet season for the Blue Streaks. On Senior Night, Saratoga secured 8

out of the top10 all-around spots led by Ava Dallas (1st all-around; 36.50) followed by Laura Eberlein (2nd all-around; 34.70), Kate DellaRatta (3rd all-around; 32.60), Molly Russell (6th all-around; 31.45), Emily Ward (7th all- around; 31.10), Olivia Allen (8th all-around; 30.80), Sophia Sperling (9th all-around; 30.65) and Erika Sudigala (10th all-around; 30.65).

At the conclusion of the meet, senior Toga gymnasts Laura Eberlein, Kate DellaRatta, Molly Russell and Emily Ward were honored.

Saratoga gymnastics returns to action on Jan. 25, as they host the Purple Passion Meet at 6 p.m. at the Wilton YMCA, which raises funds for the prevention of domestic violence.

GAME ONE: D’Andreas – 68 v. Nemer – 64
Three players were in double digits as D’Andreas beat Nemer 68 to 64. David Wolf poured in 21, Tom Welch had 19 and Greg Greico added 15 for the winning squad. Mike Bentley had a league high for Nemer with 42 points in a losing effort.

GAME TWO: Walton’s – 53 v. Mama Mia’s – 34
Walton’s took down Mama Mia’s 53 to 34. Bobby Hanson posted 23, Joe Twomey had 15 and Tom Kelly added 10 for Walton’s. Mark Sohl led Mama 
Mia’s with 18 points.

GAME THREE: Gennaro’s – 57 v. Village Photo – 47
Gennaro’s was able to outlast Village Photo in a hard fought game 57 to 47. Ed Benway led all scorers with 22, Kay Hasini had 17 and Greg O’Conner had 10 for Gennaro’s. Scott Waterhouse had 15 and Lamont Williams added 11 for Village Photo.

Saratoga PBA - 31 v. Cudney’s Launderers - 28
In a game that was close from the opening tip-off until the final buzzer Saratoga PBA outlasted Cudney’s Launderers by a score of 31 to 28. PBA got 10 points apiece from Trey Stanislowsky and John Gerardi to led PBA to the hard earned victory. Cudney’s never fell behind by more than 5 points throughout the game and used Tom Maurer’s 10 points along with Alex Cutler, Josue Matinez and Jacob Armer all with 5 points each in the loss.

Pashley Contracting - 63 v. Village Photo - 28
With everyone on the court scoring at least 2 points and with Connor Johnson’s career high 30 points and 18 rebounds along with Yankiel Baracero’s 8 points and Bryant Savage, Isacc Ryan’s 6 points each to roll over Village Photo 63 to 28. Kendrick Herring 14 points, Kemari Johnson 7 points and 4 points apiece from Carter Wood and Chris Perera in the defeat.

LION’S CLUB SR. DIVISION

Barrelhouse - 44 v. Synergy Promotions - 40
Noah Rourke had 21 points, Charlie Didonato 10 points along with Sean Lee’s defense the Barrelhouse avenged a week 2 loss to Synergy Promotions by a score of 44 to 40. These two teams battled right down to the wire. Pat Deschaine dropped in 16 points while teammates Thomas Kelly and Elijah Woods each contributed 6 points in the loss.

Raloid Tools - 43 v. Saratoga Honda - 30
In a game that was very physical with both teams throwing their bodies all over the basketball court from the opening whistle Raloid Tools pulled off an exciting victory over Saratoga Honda by the score of 43 to 30. Ian Fisk had a game high 15 points while Paul Steves Cameron Fitzpatrick each contributed 6 points in the win. Tom Leary led his team with 8 points and Nate Siewert, Quinn Frank, Noah Joly and Jack Foster each scored 5 points in the defeat.
