QUEENSBURY – The Board of Directors of the Hudson Headwaters Health Foundation announced this week that the Dake family and Max Yurenda of Double H Ranch have been named as the 2018 Community Champions.
They will be honored at the Hudson Headwaters 13th Annual Community Champions Celebration on Sunday, Aug. 26 at Point O’ Pines on Brant Lake.
“The Dake Family sets a tremendous example of the far-reaching impact that local business leaders can have on their communities,” said Health Foundation Board Chair Jim Himoff. “From Glens Falls to Champlain, the Dakes’ generous support of Hudson Headwaters has helped improve health care throughout our region.”
“Max’s sustaining leadership as CEO and executive director of Double H Ranch is a testament to the power of purpose and vision,” said Hudson Headwaters CEO Tucker Slingerland, M.D. “He exemplifies what it means to make a difference.”
The Community Champions Celebration is an annual event honoring individuals, families and businesses that help make the region a healthy and dynamic place to live, work and play. Past honorees include Senator Betty Little; Kris Duffy, SUNY Adirondack; Tom Murphy, Glens Falls National Bank; Darren Woods, Seagle Music Colony; Cali Brooks, Adirondack Foundation; and Dr. John Rugge, the founder of Hudson Headwaters.
