Saratoga Springs, NY – Marion J. “Rod” Rodriguez, 86, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2012.
Born January 11, 1926, in Stillwater, NY, Rod was the son of the late Marion and Charlotte Smodell Rodriguez. He served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946 and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Rod worked for 29 years for Metropolitan Insurance, 13 years as a rural carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Porter Corners and 36 years for the Saratoga Raceway. He was a life member of the Saratoga-Wilton Elks 161 and American Legion Adirondack Post 70.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Jean Lynn Garant.
Survivors include his wife, Rita (Welch) Rodriguez; grandchildren, Laura MacMillan and Daniel Garant; sister, Sally (Leisetta) Bochette; and nephews, Bruce and David Bochette.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 8, 2012.
Burial will be in the family plot at Greenridge Cemetery, Lincoln Ave., Saratoga Springs.
