SARATOGA SPRINGS — For 40 years, the residents of Loughberry have maintained plantlings on Loughberry Road. In recent years, invasive vines, which strangle and kill the plantlings, began appearing. Recently, over 20 residents with rakes, pruners, saws and other tools spent a Saturday clearing the vines over a quarter-acre site and fence line. Additionally, the city department of Public Works hauled two dump trucks of the vines away.
