McGovern Named Officer of The Year

SARATOGA SPRINGS — City Police Officer Angela McGovern has been named Officer of The Year by the Saratoga Springs Police Lieutenant’s PBA. McGovern, who was hired by the SSPD in July 2017, also serves as a field training officer, responsible for on-the-job training of recent academy graduates, and takes part in the annual Police Unity Tour – a multi-day bicycle ride to Washington, D.C. which raises awareness of Law Enforcement Officers who have died in the line of duty, and funds for the National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial and Museum.

  • New York State Police The New York State Police announced that it issued 5,576 tickets during this year’s St. Patrick’s Day enforcement initiative. The campaign began on Friday, March 15, and continued until Sunday, March 17. During the campaign, funded by the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee, State Police utilized sobriety checkpoints, additional DWI patrols, and underage drinking and sales to minors detail.
