Louise Herring

SARATOGA SPRINGS —  Louise Herring aka “Ma Herring” or “Weezy”, age 77, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on April 23, 1941 in Thomasville, GA, the daughter of the late Walter Ivey and Lou Springs Ivey.

Louise was a proud homemaker and gracious hostess, always welcoming friends and family to the table in her loving home.  She had a gift of joy, that was shown through her love and laughter.  Louise devoted her life to her children and helping others, her home was open to all for a good meal.  Louise also enjoyed going to the casinos, the lotto and playing spades, but her most precious and cherished time was with her family. 

Louise is survived by her five children, Tina Herring, Walter Herring, Robert Herring Jr., Sonya Hall, Tonya Perrington; sisters, Sarah Goodwine, Dorris Harris; grandchildren, Christopher Herring, Ramiliah Johnson, Dayshawn Herring, Johntay Jones, Zyaire Mays, Jeanetta Davies, Nigeria Davies, Kayla Dunn, Logan Dunn, Tyler Kraus, Jalen Hall, Ethan Dunn, Michael Green, Kendrick Herring, Ivey Herring; great-grandchildren, Jalik Brown, Jerimiah Greco, Zaliyah Mays  and many nieces, nephews and friends who will miss her dearly.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Herring Sr..

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, March 22, 2019 at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, NY.  Family and friends may call from 1 pm to 1:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Harry Lindman and his staff for their love, care and compassion for Louise during her illness.

The family would like to invite you to join them for further fellowship at the Italian American Club, 247 Grand Avenue, Saratoga Springs.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Louise to Compassionate Funeral Care to help the family with funeral expenses.
